COMOEDIA HUMANA, HUMAN COMEDIES

A show about the myth of myths: The Creation. Visual, satirical and poetic, the play features seven characters who engage in the hectic backdrop of a large modern city.

As if in a dream, a series of moving images puts the characters in situations where the boundaries between everyday life, memories and miracles are increasingly blurred. This, until they "come back down to earth" having learned a little more about the diversity of existence. All this is skillfully combined with the comic madness of the Commedia dell'Arte.

The title "The Human Comedy" covers precisely what is presented to the audience: With an obvious thought to Dante's "Divine Comedy", ordinary life and everyday problems are elevated to the heights of comedy without the story losing its realistic side.

In autumn 2003, the show delighted both the public and the critics. The Danish Actors' Association (1879) chose it to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the association. For the anniversary performances in May 2004, the auditorium of Folketeatret's Main Stage was packed. In the spring of 2006 the play was staged again, and at Pakhus 11 in Copenhagen and during this third performance period the hall was once again filled with an enthusiastic audience.
