In July 1791, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart received an anonymous commission for a requiem through a messenger.
The strange circumstances of the composition of this unfinished opus by Mozart, ignite the most diverse assumptions and wrap this last work in a part of shade and mystery.
In July 1791, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart received a commission. Faced with his impending death, will Mozart be able to free himself from the demons that animate him and live to the end of his passions? Will he succumb to the intoxication of sin?
In this macabre dance, torn between the here and the hereafter, will he have the strength to make his way?

Through dance and theater, Tania De Paola, highlights this dramatic episode in the life of the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and subtly mixes it with grotesque or derisory silhouettes inspired by Botero's characters.
The dancers wear costumes that amplify their forms and physical performances on stage. The scenography imagined by Tania De Paola is an immense frame of painting, posed in oblique. This golden frame delimits the space of expression and the borders of the world of human comedy.
Tania De Paola met the immense artist Botero in his studio in Paris during the creation of the first version of "Jardin de la grosse dame" at the Théâtre de Vidy in 1999. His show was the first incursion of a dance-theater creation at Vidy thanks to the precious support of its director at the time, René Gonzales.
The result of this new 2017 version is a show full of movement, rich in contrasts, reflecting the intense dialogue that our own passions can have.
Jerome Baur revisits Mozart's Requiem with his colors. Touches of jazz, rock, electro and world music take the show to an unexpected dimension. A furious drum solo invites itself in the DIES IRAE, the HOSTIAS expresses itself with a jazz double bass solo, the KYRIE with a flamenco guitar... So many universes which cross and which allow us to live differently this monument which is the Requiem of Mozart.
