PLOT

1945, the Soviets seize women in Berlin as war booty. How to survive? How do you stand when defilement brings you to your knees?

This burning, sarcastic diary, written from April to June 1945, is of incredible vitality and was found in the rubble of Berlin.

In 1954, a first edition was published anonymously, which caused a scandal. The author refused to publish it until his death.

In 1968, photocopies of the work were circulated in Berlin's universities. Another scandal. The identity of the author, Marta Hillers, a journalist, was not revealed until 2006.

BACKSTAGES

For the main theme, I composed a song on a poem by Geuthe which tells the story of the relationship between a rose and a little boy who wants to pick it.

The rose begs him to leave her in peace, explaining that he has nothing to gain by seeing her get angry.

This theme seemed to me to make sense with the story of a woman in Berlin and it was my daughter, Gaia, who interpreted this song with great delicacy.
